Sunday, July 30 Dr. Ciara Zachary on North Carolina Health Policy
On Sunday, July 30, Dr. Ciara Zachary will speak on "North Carolina Health Policy Updates: How Might We Be Affected--How Can We Take Action?" at 5:30 pm in the American Legion Building Blowing Rock, NC. This lecture is part of the summer series, A Civil Conversation, providing a chance for a nonpartisan discussion of issues critical to our community. Her short lecture will be followed by an opportunity for questions and answers. Light refreshments will be provided.
As a policy analyst, Dr. Zachary's work focuses on Medicaid expansion and reform within the NC Justice Center. Prior to joining the Justice Center, she worked as a public health researcher to design, implement, and evaluate injury prevention and behavioral health programs. She provided technical assistance to 33 tribes and tribal organizations to develop and sustain an injury prevention program. She has a master's in public health from UNC-Chapel Hill and a doctorate from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
