Monitoring U.S. Representative Virginia Foxx
US Representative Virginia Foxx(R) is the representative for District 5, the very normal and not a bit odd shaped district in the screenshot below.

Contact Representative Foxx by calling 202-225-2071 (Boone office is 828-265-0240) or emailing via her cumbersome website form: https://foxx.house.gov/connect/default.aspx
When we can, we will update this page with relevant reports on Foxx's activity.
1. Many of us have contacted Representative Foxx alarmed about the reckless firing of federal employees--undermining critical services, wasting all the resources that went into the recruiting, hiring, and training, and treating our fellow citizens cruelly. Her response was to explain that private employees have it worse than federal workers. That...isn't helpful? That...is why government shouldn't be run like a business, especially not ones run to the ground by megalomaniacs?
2. We have called about our concerns about DOGE making our data unsafe to predators here and abroad, and she responded by praising the work of DOGE.
3. She voted for the SAVE Act, legislation that Brennan Center calls the one of the worst voting policies in U.S. history. This is not "just a voter ID bill," but one that sets up hurdles to voting to 21 million citizens with full legal rights to vote but no easy access to the specialized documents required to vote. It sets up special hurdles to anyone (usually women) who changed their name when they married. It could set up barriers for service members serving abroad. It is a form of voter suppression and an implicit poll tax because it will now cost $65-200 to pay for the required documents. Republicans try to claim this is a way to protect election integrity, but we already have countless protections in every state of election integrity and zero evidence that any non-citizen is voting illegally.
4. We are alarmed by the corrupt access Elon Musk has to the agencies that provide his companies billions in funding, including agencies that were (in the past) investigating fraud and safety concerns. Foxx's response?
Sometimes, we wonder what exactly Republicans mean when they complain about waste and fraud?
